unfortunately this is what "teach yourself illustration" magazines have had in them since the designers republic got off the merry-go-round about 5 years ago. Thats what it's called, what we are saying is that your older stuff was trendwhore and now its not You seem to have transcended it. A whole generation of designers…
Trying to apply what I have learned recently into some smaller illustrations. I feel like I have become a lot looser and relaxed. Bit by bit the constant performance anxiety and crushing hopelesness of maybe not making this into a career is dissipating. This one was made on an iPad. Scary stuff working on such a small…
Update #5 "Blade Runner Gun" Been super busy for the last month, only just managed to get around to starting my next piece. I'm working Deckard's gun from Blade Runner this time. I'm trying to go as illustrative as possible as I don't want it to just be a exact copy.
Somebody had done a pregnant female character rendered in Vray I spotted earlier this year. It'd make for a nice illustration, but I'm not so sure about actual game characters (unless you're talking the Sims franchise). On a related note: You simply cannot go wrong with Arnie being pregnant!
Wow, this piece has come a really long way. I think it's really awesome how you stuck with it through all the many revisions and took a lot of great critique to heart. It all shows, and you came out with a very impressive concept illustration! Congrats, you really did that piece justice!!
I'm willing to bet Yuri can draw better than I can. And I don't think I'm the worst illustrator to be an artist. I agree that talent is difficult to quantify and that arguing about it is moot which is why I suggested OP post some 2d and 3d work he has done.
Alloa: You are absolutely correct. The xoliul shader has the "flip green channel" box in the normal map slot checked by default. I just threw the wall up there to illustrate a point about the depth of the door. The wall looks pretty terrible, definitely not a correct finished project. Thanks for pointing that out though.
This looks amazing! I am trying to work on my own entry for Riven in the illustration category but I've just been so busy with school I haven't had time for anything lol I love your model though what program did you use? ZBrush, Maya, or Max? :o
After two years in development limbo, we finally uploaded the Fortunes Veil set for Ogre Magi! Collaboration with Stephen Oakley who did the concept and illustration. I wanted to get three more sets done before the TI deadline, looks like it'll only be one more after this T.T
the real gun is called the HK 45. it's a very new pistol from H&K so not a lot of people know the name. anyway, the model is very well made but your model could use a couple changes to make it closer to the real thing. being a gun nerd it's probably better if i illustrate it...
