@Zablorg Is this what you meant? Please give a clear explanation of what you're asking and straight to the point. Also please show us some of your 3D work because we don't know where you're struggling with. Thanks.
This problem can be easily fixed by just using a "Weighted Normals" modifier, or adjusting the normals bij hand in 3ds Max. It's a smoothing issue that is caused if you don't subdiv model and just bevel the edges. But it is also really easy to fix.
Personally, I'd model a bunch of separate curly parts I can reuse and tweak, don't worry about overlaps, just kitbash them together. Either bake down all the details to a pretty simple mesh or use a tool like 3d coat that can voxelize the model. These types of details are pretty small and just become visual noise, so they…
Hello! I am still learning 3d Modeling. Since I model for 3d printing I have been using Booleans to make most of the details. I am trying to learn how to model them more 'properly' but I am having trouble maintaining the over all curves of the piece I am adding the details too. The first picture is the lowest LOD and the…
From that image you can clearly see that the author is Vitaly Bulgarov, think he doesn't use Zbrush for doing things from scratch like thise, so its probably just a 3d app or im just wrong because it is a keyshot render with roundeedge shader, arghh still complicate to determinate his pipeline, if you wanna get involve in…
Is there a way to fix a highpoly object that starts to get some warping in the smooth curvature due to added edge loops? 3ds max Example: I had a curved shape, had to subdivied and crushed it down as I needed to add lots of cut details onto the curved shape. Now due to moving/adding some edges a bit, areas that used to be…
Float. definitely. If its two peices in real life, No point in making it a single piece in 3d. Even though it may be permanently adhered, That black piece was its own object at one point. So you could treat it as such and be just fine.
Sorry, I missed your post. But man, being fairly new in 3D I have to say that means a lot! Thank you. No problem, check my thread in my signature below. I posted a few wire renders there for you.
Nice model EQ! Maybe a bit offtopic but what the subd engineers opinion about the 3ds max's new feature, the Open Subdiv implementation? Videos below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENA2FAF_PIc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnHSTQQwM3E
How do I model a wire like this in Blender 2.8? (Or pipes/ropes in general) I've been a 3D modeler for over 9 years and I still don't know how :c (I tried using curves but that didn't work)
