I was just being dumb and tried to create something in the most unproductive manner possible. The question was already answered by WAYWO (and the million other threads/images before that) and I felt like posting something dumb.
So I know this is old stuff, but did someone manage to model this correctly, I couldn't find any images in the previous posts. I gave it a go, but there is lots of dirty geometry and uneven manual cleanup.
Hi, polycommunity, I want ask, how you modeling Bolt Nut in subdivision. Is possible create bolt nut shapes better as I have on the image? OBJ https://mega.nz/#!hZwUTYyB!4uz4RLDFQsFIijUwBRqNBcDTCcTPxI3m1Ro6Glo_m-M
Thanks for the replies :) Maybe I should clarify my images. The first one with the 4 different methods was for a demonstration of how some of the methods used for flat circles don't work on a dome. The second image was an example of how I had made it work for the most part, although a small ring was still visible. The end…
Hello. I have something to ask, but in the case of the shape of the image below, where should I put the support edge? I plan to apply a subdivision surface to this mesh. I feel that the area marked with a red circle is particularly difficult.
This is not exactly what I need. All 3 beveled corners has same width and I need something as was posted Wirrexx:, where front side beveled corner has width 3 times bigger as is on image.
Sorry small image... but how the frig should I go about modelling all this detail? I'm looking for the 'easy and quick' way.. as opposed to the 2 or 3 hours of tedious extruding and edge looping. Any suggestions?! <3
how to model the middle joint of Y shape ?i just model two polygons but no idea to the joint ,need to use which technique in maya to joint smoothly ? http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/138/63906018.jpg/
A few posts up Specter has an image showing how to get a round shape from a grid. On the side of your intuos model you have a planar area that could be turned into such a grid by adding 2 more loops.
What will? Your subdivision image shows the edges aren't flowing into each other, which tells me you've either got two meshes, or a single mesh that isn't sealed. I'm saying you need to seal it up.
