finally back at my apartment and done with the slew of weddings that have been going on the last several weeks. Anyway, the faux comic cover is still in the works but I needed a break from it so i popped this one out. I think the animal incorporation is something i'll keep working with on later pieces.
Psylocke from Marvel's X-Men Based on a concept by Shunya Yamashita I really like the design of Psylocke and some other comic characters. Since their costumes are mostly skin-tight I felt like it's a good opportunity for me to focus on the anatomy of the body too. What do you think I can do to improve this project?…
What's Up Guys!? So, i found this movie ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fwM4hnsdSA"]Triplets of Bellville[/ame in the back of my 2nd Hard Drive and thought i'd share it with you, but at the same time thought I'd ask if you guys would share some obscure movies, comics, anything inspirational... ok that's my time PEACE!
Thanks guys, and yeah Shrew, these guys did a real good job doing characters from the same comic. Made some corrections to the arms, and continued to work on the cloths/Accessories and got rid of the beard. It clearly didn't fit the model at all. I'm going to start that beard over with a good base.
This is looking great dude, i like your remake! though personally i would have gone for a meaner end for the mechanical arm. funnily enough, im sculpting up a mean machine angel myself, but im going more for the old comic style so not as cool as this :) keep it up dude!
Just got copies of the comic that comes with the collector's edition, it is sweet! It's comparible to a D&D source book in size and binding. I wasn't really expecting much from it but it was really enjoyable. I've got the WAR novel sitting on my shelf, I'm going to have to give that one a shot now.
Neil Strauss: The Game Chuck Palahniuk: Lullabye, Invisible Monsters Neil Gaiman: Anansi Boys, The entire Sandman Series (comics) Robert Jordan (R.I.P.): The Wheel of Time Series (notably the first 3 books). Shame he died before he could finish. Dalai Lama: The Art of Happiness
Sprites and vertex color ? That's how volumetric clouds are done in most games i think. I'm trying to find a video from autodesk where a guy did a setup for an airplane fight with a slight comic feel. It was for rendering but it would work for real time i guess. there it is : paths of hate http://vimeo.com/27716580 at 17min
Reference is key. Try copying a page out of a comic book, a magazine, photograph whatever, and get it as close as possible. This is why people take life drawing. Drawing is like any other skill, and it only gets better with practice. Draw every day. Do that for a month and you'll see vast improvement in your work.
Nice work! Kinda reminds me of Judge Dredd characters but with khaki colours (the cadets/rookies in the Judge Dredd comic have white helmets and larger pads). I have to agree with the other guys on this. The colours of the helmet and visor could do with having more contrast, being different colours. Good work though!
