I think you need to go back down a few subdivision levels and block out your forms better, everything is a bit lump and undefined atm. Your cloth could use some more love, check out some reference or tutorials on cloth sculpting tips.
Base model then exported out of character creator as a .fbx file to generate the key we will need later to create and import custom clothing for it later. Character is opened in 3D xchange and then export the body as an .obj file so the base can be used as our model to create clothes on it in zbrush.
I'm liking the color palette a little more now, I like the gold trim Scudz suggested. I would try to lighten up the cloth on the inside of the strips because I can barely see the sweet cloth folds you sculpted. Maybe a navy blue or something?
Here is a clothing status report on Adam. I personally think he's beginning to look pretty cool. Do you think the jeans look believable enough? This is my first time simulating wrinkles and folds in clothing in ZBrush. And do you have any feedback for the uniform as a whole?
I don't know how people use those slick, non-cloth mousepads, that moves the cursor at the slightest touch. I need to have a little friction from a cloth and rubber mousepad. I use an oversize one from Office Depot, about 16 inches wide.
Looking good overall. But Rockstar's got a point. Check out some reference for the folds in the cloth. Right now they're too evenly distributed and kind of random. There should at least a few spot where there aren't any folds, where the clothing would be pulled tighter across the body.
Moving onto another character now, hoping to get more practice with clothing. i started with the body and detailed there and have now blocked out the clothes ready for detail. I'm still not 100% sure how I'm going to go about some of it, so I'm expecting a lot of trial and error. Any input would be greatly appreciated! :)
Hi Popol!, Thanks!!. The Jacket is of leather, the border of the hood have a material like "rain cloth".In this work I exaggerated the wrinkles, maybe too much, but I wanted an atractive shape, my idea was practice the draws and the curves of the clothes. Sory for my english.Cheers!
Thanks a lot stoop_Kid :) redid the cloth on her torso, sculpted the hood, added some noise to the cloth, changed a little bit of colour scheme, adding a load of little stitches and stuff. Also adjusted the belt a little bit to add more silhouette to her.
If you mean redundant geo that is hidden under clothes, then yes. If parts of the naked character will never be seen underneath clothing /armour/etc, then it makes no sense to keep the geo. It is wasteful, unnecessary, and could become a skinning nightmare as well as a headache to deal with penetrating geo.
