I circled everything that looks like it could be overlapped. The top and bottom could also because you have to think about how the player will see the prop. If it does not move and ill never be flipped the player wont see it. So it wont matter if the bottom has the cylinder on it because the player would never know.
No, that's not the problem. It's somewhat of a vicious circle, in that people treat that which is praised unfairly in a less positive way than they would normally have, and many blender-users are evangelical about their software of choice because they feel it gets a bad reputation, making people more negative than they'd…
seconded omg that was too funny. I actually wish I saw more sunlight but alas my vampire ways would not have it. not twilight vampire though...I'm not that good looking and I don't roll around in glitter and have eyeliner. just very large black circles around both of my eyes.
i just figured out what i thought were his eyes, aren't his eyes. for some reason i was reading the black circles as his large, confused eyes, giving him an oddly comical look. correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't the specular highlights go over the tat as well?
@Commiesaur About the curved part - I think a good way is to start with circle or sphere with more dense topology, detach the part you need, add thikness, and then start splitting it into different blocks. So in general you need to establish the curvature first, and for this you need even, reasonably dense topology.
A small update this weekend. I implemented repair kits (health potions). They are pickups that get used immediately. I will make them as inventory items too later. Whenever the item is picked up 4 drones will circle the ship and repair it slowly. [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtY2EUydTm4[/ame]
Very nice styles. I know it's a bit cheeky to ask since you're providing these for free but is there any chance you could add some non-standard characters? It mostly invovles putting dots, circles and lines all over exisiting letters so hopefully it won't be too bad :D
Getting started on another. Did some thumbs harped on the idea of carrying silhouette. Something that seems to be getting lost, often with students such as myself, because we as humans tend to lean toward certain shapes we like. Instructor chose the one circled in red obviously. Moving forward with advanced thumbnails.
looks so so so soooo cute (hug it and keep it i dont like the flying wings though, wings are too commonly used, i will give you an idea, make it as if it's flying in space with the whatever glass circle around him zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (now pay me money for ideas lol!
This is a lot better! You could go a lot further here though. Still lots of wasted vertices. I circled a few. Why double edges? (or are they triple?) No need to continue edge loops across the in-game model. Total waste. Just my opinion of course, take with a grain of salt, etc.
