[ QUOTE ] Keep in mind, Net Neutrality is not over. When things look grim, you have to kick whatever the fuck is at your throat in the balls. Do what you can. [/ QUOTE ] True that. Boycotting ISPs that take up this practice sounds like the ticket to me. Although whether there would be enough people on the net who are…
for some reason the link you posted doesn't work. i actually made a shader network that makes the mesh tesselate depending on camera distance, and it worked really well. i'm just curious about other peoples "best practices" since this is relatively new to people who aren't working in studios, i'd guess. i'll post my…
a bit more this kind of practice has been banned by the department for trade and industry (DTI) & Ofcom after numerous complaints over the years, Mostly about EA's medal of honor and BF1942 for miss-leading consumers. to mind the only game to cause uproar from gamers was Killzone and now this Driving game, which doubles up…
Im about 2 years out now, i have had some freelance jobs and minor studio jobs. I practice everyday or try too and i started my own thread to get a job on polycount to develop even more. I have a crappy job for now whil i keep working and i may try an indie game

I agree with Shiniku. It's usually easier for an artist to portray their own gender. Maybe it's because you are most familiar with the subtleties of your own body. Maybe it's because artists usually start out portraying their own gender, because they relate to it better. Either way, one is not harder than the other, it's…
@"Eric Chadwick" You're right, this video shows nothing of the pain involved in working in 2021 and all the issues involved, that I mentioned above. I saw that video comparison last week and had to laugh. The reality is that it's a nightmare. It is still a beta with hacks and is stuck with that awful Microsoft compiler.…
Final Progress! Was able to get the retopology and UVing done, and then the simplicity of the concept allowed me to use pre loaded Substance materials for the texturing. Able to get the character in engine (UE4) using animations from Mixamo. Quite a learning process this has been! And in the end I still have the character…
I think it really depends on the scale of the operation and how many people in main roles insist on the practice. Moving to remote would be beneficial, though I'm not sure how heavily invested studios are on their budget for the space they are renting, so that is a massive amount to lose.…
Oh no now I don't know what to think! didn't want to cheat for the vote, but took it into photoshop for comparing afterward. I could see the stark difference in the foam, and interpreted the deeper contrast as coming from less detail + mipmap sharpening, as well as the large scratch on the left ear cup. Anyway, the point…
