depending on how lowpoly your mesh is you could copy paste the skinning from the component editor that + having all quads be triangulated the same way would give you the optimal result but is kind of tedious. a friend of mine wrote me a mel script once that allowed me to select two verts and than transfer the skinning from…
Mel is fairly easy to script in. I believe the reason is because Max handles hardware rendering much better than Maya. I could be way off but I think Max is D3D whereas Maya is OpenGL? Maya behaves strangely when trying to interpret a normal map in realtime quality a good portion of the time. It is getting much better each…
Look at this if you haven't. As mentioned previously, 3ds Max uses "smoothing groups" and Maya uses "soft and hard edges" to do the same thing: http://wiki.polycount.com/SmoothingGroups Test the hard and soft edges. Place them on models and see what you see. If you want the edge to look hard and sharp, then place a hard…
You should be able to re-use it. You may need to disconnect a few controllers to fix the scale/positioning of the joints but it shouldn't be too much work, certainly not as much as building a rig from scratch. A lot of people I know in Maya do "scripted rigging" where they build a rig and write a script to basically…
I did that recently, it change of the cutie style... maybe... You can try it in 3D there : http://samavan.com/3D/Random/500-800_Poly_Viewer_V0.2.exe Camera : - RMB : rotate - MMB : Scroll - Roll : Zoom You can click on the different part of the car for changing texture, click on different part of the fixed character and…
What I don't understand: Why would the ice caps melting RAISE sea levels? Stick a cube of ice in a full glass of water and watch what happens. As the ice melts the water level goes DOWN. Ice is less dense and more volumous than water.
I hate any form of small melee enemies in FPS games (which is why I hate UT2004 Invasion, all the enemies are either Skaarj variants or tiny melee enemies). Having ones that put you down to 1 health with a single hit only makes it even more annoying.
Yeah, this is a great one. The Glengarry Glen Ross vid suites reality very well, it's almost like the men are being yelled at by the entire business world rather than just one guy.
