"Atlasing" is the act of combining many things into one UV channel. An "Atlas" traditionally contains many different things in it. If you take your example, and replace "Ground Plane" with "a bunch of different props that would normally be unwrapped separately", then your statement would be true.
Make sense to me, heheh. That's one of the reasons I like adding stuff to the wiki, feels good to help out the new kids. At the same time though the guy's vid strikes a nerve with so many devs because it contains so many truths.
I agree. THE LORAX. That book was so fucking awesome. Though, people might take it as a political message now days. Or maybe they could make a movie that contained a bunch of his shorter books? It'd have more than 1 book, and that'd be awesome.
Hi, A couple of weeks ago whilst experimenting with DDO I discovered its png exporter had two major failings. Firstly it does not include the relevant alpha channel data (e.g. gloss in a spec/gloss map), such data is just missing from the exported file, but is included in say tga. Secondly it ignored png's lossless…
Simple scenario: * High poly mesh contains UVs with associated normal map and albedo map * Retopo to low poly mesh * How to get normal map and albedo map from high res to fit retopo (low) mesh? This is a departure from the conventional workflow - bake high poly down to low poly, then texture; it is happening in reverse.
Hi! After definitely too much time I can proudly present you my new animation reel: [vv]129293316[/vv] It contains a few animation from games (made in After Effects, Spine), some FXes (made in Flash) and a couple with a potential to be a part of a game. You can watch some GIFs at Behance. Thanks for checking it out!

Never just made a model just for posing, but for animation the final lowpolys are usually in a few groups: the base figure, boots and upperclothing, lowerclothing and accessories for example, just as long as the group contains no items that intersect for baking. The groups remain separate and are only united by the rig at…
