Go to Customize menu, look for Preferences, then go to the Viewports tab. Look for "Direct3D Settings" or something similar, click that and it'll pop up a new window with some settings - set all the "Texture Size" options to 1024 (or highest whatever it is) and click the "match texture size as closely as possible"…
well right now the video card is creating a price difference of about 1000 bucks. I just want the card or set up that will allow me to push at least several million polys. gt9800 512 or gtx280 1024. Am i better off going SLi for either one or just a single option?
I found that having a reference pic was the most important thing for me. 3D sculpting isnt easy, keep at it. Your sculpt definitely looks better than my early ones! heres some of my first sculpts :P http://ic3.deviantart.com/fs13/f/2007/023/6/2/Mudbox_Head_Study_by_SirCula.jpg
The front of the puch is done, only the back is left. 3500 polies and two 1024^2. Performance was not a big issue, which is why things aren't very well optimized. Soon I'll have to do tanks, yay edit: does anyone have an idea why I can't edit my first post?

:)Finished the Water Dispenser The Texture is 1024 and includes a Diffuse+Alpha, Spec,Gloss, AO and a Normal map. Now its on to the next prop:) Ps: is there another way to upload images or can u only upload them via manage attachments? I tried to embed them right after my post but it did not work.
iirc they have doubled pressure levels, so you currently have a no-tilt intuos 3 quality pen; first bamboo models had 512 levels of pressure vs 1024, and wacom pens aren't cross-compatible if pressure difference takes place (you could use graphire pens with older bamboo for example)
Questiones: The "comic book" line work you have, is it in the diffuse texture or another seperate texture multiplied/added in a shader? I ask this because i was always curious how they keep the crisp comic book lines on low res textures like 512 and down, those pixels usually start to disappear on 1024 and lower.
something else I had put together a while ago but I figure it couldnt hurt to toss up here. Looking back I made a booboo with the loin cloth wrinkles :) horse is about 3k, knight around 4.2k, shield and lance about 800 together. 1024 maps for the characters and 512 for the shield and 256 for the lance.
Phil-424 - I reaaly like what you did until now...go ahead:D I have a little comment about the handles because it looks like are too small Update - I'm very noob at texturing so please say everything you want so i can learn more :D
