Day 8 Hi! Done quick sculpt pass (very simple) and started to make Mid Poly. I think I'll do around 35-40k Triangles. Spent too much time to try to decimate one piece for test bake :( Boring screenshots are coming next few days before Texturing! 7800 Tris for this thing: MidPoly will be finished tomorrow I think as this is…
It depends on what you use the asset for. If its a big center piece object then you can easily get away with 20k-40k but generaly small stuff i'd stick with below 1k-2k. most important thing is the silouette. Look at what the minimum number of polygons are that are needed for your model to match the silouette and stick to…
Kinda going along with what everybody else said... 40k tris is a lot, but looking at your silhouette, I expected less than 15k. A large portion of your geometry is used in areas where no silhouette is needed, like many of the recesses and smaller details. I think the design is nice, and you have a shit ton of detail, which…
Thanks for the feedback Vextrakt. You are probably right about the thin shapes. I just had the idea and thought that alpha would be the best way to achieve with 400 triangles. Next object will be solid! I promise. I want to just focus on concepting - this concept was too hard for me to draw ib perspective and so I started…
i had some EIZO 1600x1200@120hz 21" or 22" crt monitor which weiths about a ton and a half if i knew you are all horny for them, i would have kept it^^ btw. those are around 40$ now edit: lol 400 bucks for triniton, i got both triniton monitors i had back than for nothing (college gave them away)
Just died out in the boonies, dropped probably 3-400 clays I'd collected. I died from drowning (bs when I'm two blocks from the water's surface). I tried to go back to where it was, but the damn xp bubble bs caused such a framerate kill that I couldn't do a damn thing. I hope it doesn't mess up the mp server for anyone…
Hah, I forgot that I'd started this thread. Spent more time with it since buying and I can see sooo much potential for it already, despite having hardly scratched the surface. I take it all back, it's brilliant, and the 4.3 update has made it even better with the Yebis 2 viewport effects (glad I held off on upgrading my…
What I did using the Max viewport. I'd recommend minimizing empty space, and show your texture at full res. You might even want to show the texture at 400%, no filtering, so people can see your details. Your wireframe is a little hard to read because it's a bit dark. I like seeing it on the textured model, maybe a stronger…
I was using the break command initially but then I read this: http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/tutorials/maxscript-coding-standards 4.3 explains that using a break is "wrong". Also, it's kinda bugging me that I don't know how to get this working. It seems like it should be pretty simple. If this was C# I'd just put a…
This looks very nice and if it really costs 400$ it will be amazing deal. Before I get my intuose 4 I had bamboo fun and it only had 512 levels of pressure vs the 2056 on the intuose 4 and I was just starting with the art, but I did not find any difference at all between the two tablets pressure sensitivity. I remember…
