If catching up seems out of the realms of possibility i can tell you some students in my class who had barely touched 3d at all are all smashing out great up to date art. There's also a huge Udemy thread here on PC which cheap invaluable tutorials. and for $2.15 http://www.3dnice.net/game_weapon_dev.html is a fucking steal
Good progress so far. One thing to do when your hair is all setup is to transfer your normals from the character head to your hair cards to get rid of the poly strip look: Step 14 here talk about it: http://www.3dartistonline.com/news/2015/04/how-do-i-create-real-time-hair-for-games/
Nice start. I haven't gotten to the hair for my entry yet, but I totally get what you're saying. I don't know if you ever ended up finding a hair tutorial that you liked, but this one is pretty good: http://www.3dartistonline.com/news/2015/04/how-do-i-create-real-time-hair-for-games/

Jews didn't blew up anything on 9/11, right? Somehow different story. (At least if you disregard some conspiracy theories...). And guise, guise. there was no Internet pre-WW2. Any conclusions? I can't imagine this going totally frantic and people not noticing. This whole NDAA thing... I don't know what to think really.…
This mel script for maya was posted a while back not sure by who, when, or where. http://www-viz.tamu.edu/courses/tutorials/gary/index.html I also don't use Maya anymore so I have no idea what versions of maya it will work with. I don't think it's realtime either so it's probably useless for games, but it may give some…
I played Day of Defeat for about 2 years it is a great game. I hope it translates well to source. It is kind of like RtCW but felt solid. DoD never feels like the controls are "slugish" like the RtCW controls do. Personally if it comes down to WW2 shooters I would take Call of Duty any day over Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
I'm going to GDC but I don't have any recent pictures. BTW does anyone know of any restaurants and food under $20 in the GDC area? So far the only place I can find doing a really poor www search is Canton at 655 Folsom St (around the corner of GDC) its food is from 7-14.
I've fixed the GoW missing link. thefatladysings- you can try clicking the highlighted links in the text, and not the title of the post. I'll try to make those links more obvious. I've just made a monthly digest for December 2006 so you guys can have a look at all the artworks for that month…
good luck man... its a nice start, be careful though. getting the hull shape on one of those big ships can be pain in the ass. bare in mind that SOME model companies will let you have blueprints of their models if you ask nice. i got a load off airfix for free from old models they stopped making.. but that was ww2 stuff.
