I think a quick, simple reply is that a lot of services like medical care are not automatically covered by the government in the US, hence the hike in salaries to cover for expenditures like check-ups, etc. -

Yeah, I'm not surprised there was a molex to sata adapter involved. There needs to be a public service announcement about not using them. Deathstick: Just don't use a molex to sata adapter and you'll be fine. -

I use ICDSoft, great customer service reputation (though I've never needed it personally), simple, and around $80 a year. Mine and many of my clients' sites are hosted by them. -

If they trust you to ship it, you can just direct debit the money via online banking, otherwise I guess you need some kind of escrow service (use ebay?) -
