I took a 3 year game dev course at a local college (Durham College) where we did it all. Animation, modelling, texturing, udk. That was the extent of it for me.
It's probably a good idea to include where you live (not necessarily full address, but at least which metro area), so that people can tell if you're local to them or not.

oobersli: if you are missing large chunks of the world, its your client. reboot java locally if you know how, or just restart your machine and try again.
Reminds me very very much of scorpion king. Yes, obviously locale/time etc similarities, but also mainly in the level of quality. If not lower. My hopes are low.
I think a quick explanation is just to keep smoothing groups local to their UV islands, so if the UVs are broke at an edge/loop, then have the smoothing group broke there as well.
