I think for the sharp edges I was trying to see if my low poly needed to keep some round edges or needed to be sharp. For the material your right. I went with the default painted steel material in substance but wasn’t sure how the concept was intended to appear.
Looking very good! What trickery are you currently doing to get the textures so very sharp? Im not talking about the detail textures here, the transitions of the cloth layers for instance are very sharp. Or is it just really high resolution textures for the cinematics?
Nicely done! Though I feel like the model's top has some overly sharp corners on it that distract from what I assume is supposed to be a round shape. There seem to be some texture seems right along these overly sharp corners as well.
The idea is that you can go lower with the 50mm prime. 1.8 is 3 stops faster than 5.6, so yeah with IS you'd be able to take the same brightness photo, but you'd also be at 3x slower shutter speed, losing your action freezing abilities. Remember that sharpness isn't everything. I prefer getting the shot, even if it isn't…
An Olympus Micro Four thirds camera is also a very good option for something compact. The lenses are smaller/lighter than Sony Nex lenses, and there are more lens options, plus it has in-body stabilization which means you will be able to use lower shutter speeds (and low ISO, which is important for image quality/low noise)…
Also, a lot of medieval swords had blunt edges, great sharpness not being necessary (although some sharpness is necessary). Check the video I put in the beginning of the thread. All this to say that my sword could truly have been made in medieval times (gold plated).
Just finished this one. Still think its a little on the glossy side. I wonder if anyone had some critiques on this :D . I've also put up the volcanic rock, and sharp rock Substance up for download. Sharp Rocks Substance Volcanic Rock
I like it! But your edges are really sharp. If this is the high poly (which is kinda hard to tell because of the sharp edges) you wanna soften them up a little to have a better bake, to not make the model look blocky and get more nice highlighting.
ok working on getting this building done tonight, but wanted to get some feedback on the work so far. Added some chamfers to some of the edges of the buildings so they aren't so sharp and adding more dents in the geometry to get rid of that sharp edges look.
Hi Im trying to make a hole in my cathedral dome sphere but having some problems to sharp it. Is difficult to add edge loops because it adds pinchs to the sphere mesh. Any idea how can I get a clean sharp hole? The only thing I can imagine is beveling [IMG][/img] Uploaded with ImageShack.us
