Lots of cool stuff here, but I'd cut roughly a third of this. There's a few too many pieces and it's looking a bit cluttered. I think the "Shattered" Level (not entirely your assets), the Cartoon House (too highpoly), and the Steam House should go. That Dimensio trailer is sweet! You have an impressive amount of…
Just a matter of preference, but I've never seen a character rock their upper body back and forth in a crouched position like that - it looks like more of an overemphasised 'cartoon' style than 'realistic'. It might benefit the look if she was mostly leaning forwards maybe? also the knees wobble which is distracting! hope…
TWO. Ones for MP. Also, while I will NEVER get to the level of terrain detail they can, I have to say... That sniper rifle texture stands out so poorly, its almost like the weapons were designed for a cartoon game then shoved into a semi realistic one... I can't be the only person who feels that?
As long as a character looks like a human, I think that's all that matters and hence why proportion is brought up. To keep things realistic. Some characters look creepy if their backs are arched a certain way that looks biologically impossible for example so I think there should be limits. That, or change the artstyle to…
Pretty sweet! Tali is cool, although here depicted in a pose that makes her look a bit like a pissed off girl :) Shepard stood her up? XD i like your colour work a lot, even the first environment! have you textured it? you have a very nice vibrant happy cartoon style!
The one guy with the glasses don't really have eyelashes and eyebrownes. Are you aiming in the first pictures for realism or either a little bit cartoone style? But looks really good so far! Maybe adding a little bit of beard stubble, some birthbarks or so, because I think no one has such a clean face as your model :)
hmm, i like the textures on star wars, but a little TO cartoon-y for my project. I'm creating some stuff right now, when i get some stuff fully done ill post them here, give you a good idea what im going for! keep the links coming though, thx
Just so you know, that "cartoon" elf has very solid anatomy. The best stylized artists know that their anatomy still has to be ROCK SOLID for it to look good. So, make sure you understand anatomy first before you attempt stylized characters or they won't look as good as that elf you are using as an example.
This is what I'm talking about when I say stubby... To me it just looks weird with a barrel. The entire vehicle is stylized so I'd drop the barrel all together. And I can't remember what the art style is called, but you totally have to make the character for this thing look like on of Rob Zombie's cartoons :P
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=679664770 I drew out the graphics with a mouse and keyboard using my pencil drawing as a guide line. I then coloured the image with block colours becasue i wanted a simple cartoon look. I used 3 shades of colour however i still managed a realistic detailed image.
