I've had the 13HD since it came out and my screen is flawless, so I can't help but think it's less the pen and more the user. And even if it's the pen, just get a plastic screen protector. Problem solved. It comes covered with a plastic film, so I would think you could probably use that if you wanted to be cheap about it. -

Yup, I'm imaging Snader is using firefox, and because of the improved dithering, he gets high quality images that can be displayed full res on high res screens, and display downscaled images on a smaller resolution screen, using media queries. At least thats what I'm imagining this experiment to be about, I could be… -

It was one sexy ship as highpoly, but textured, it's even better then it already was. Maybe just a tad to desaturated on the camo (but it seems that that is only the case in the xoliul screens),and the effects on the UDK screen hide the model/texture to much. But that might just be me, I almost feel bad saying something… -

But yes, I'm silently stalking this project :D looking forward to seeing more Think maybe the Bloom on the screens can be toned down a bit so we can see the stuff on the screens, maybe get some movement on them :D -

This is partially true. Unless I'm wrong, screen space ambient occlusion only effects actual geometry and will have no effect on false geometry represented by normal maps. So if you have a flat wall with some kind of geometry normal mapped on it would need to have an AO map, if there is actually geometry the screen space… -

Here's a screen shot of one still and the wireframe. The still shows another problem that I can't seem to fix. What's supposed to be yellow paint in the parking lot is a black hole. I don't understand why. I tried to take a [ctrl + print screen] however the pic of the movie didn't show up in the bitmap that I ended up with. -

See, this is why I LOVE GuildWars' loading screens. The top-notch concept art that appears in many of the different regions' loading screens continues to amaze me - not that the game isn't pretty in it's own right, but it just doesn't compare to the drawings the guys at ArenaNET did. And besides, it's an MMO. It's not… -

Ok perspective. Starting on the texture... I think I will go for low wear only (not many scratches or marks) 2048x2048 btw Needs a spec map badly I wish I had a better screen Edit: took a look at these pics on my laptop screen(brighter, more contrast, newer etc) And the texture looks so dull:( -

I'm looking at the same as you. At least 2gig of ram, 1.8ghz dual core and at least 120gig space.. but whilst I want it as a desktop replacement, I also don't want a massive screen and a clunky system. I also want less than a 13" screen and less than 2.2kg. The Dell XPS M1210 looks great to me -

My girlfriend accidently smashed my laptops screen, luckily within warrenty and so they sent me £650 for a new laptop and I spent £150 replacing the first laptops screen. Basically got a free laptop - fun times. She doesn't use it anymore =P I still prefer a desktop for all other work though.
