Small claims court is actually a decent avenue if you are in the same state as your client..in Ohio you can keep it in small claims court as long as it is under 3k..and the fee is usually per county- I think its around 80$ where I am.. I think small claims in California is up 10k in damages... it's all still a giant pain… -
