@JoseConseco - Vertex snapping is something that I wanted to add when I started it but when I thought about it I couldn't think of a good way to implement it, or how it would work. I think I can do vertex snapping when you're first placing the object but I'm not sure how to do it when dragging without doing something I…
Wow, still with the UI thing eh? I'm a long time max *and* blender guy and fwiw for me personally it's the UI in max that I find tiresome now (each to his own I guess) and using Blender feels like getting home and dropping a bunch of heavy baggage at the front door. I'll offer another observation too, hopefully it doesn't…
@melviso you said you're not that familiar with the node editor, so it would be a great way to learn if you tried to recreate that node tree by following the images. This is a 7 min tutorial on some basics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zrd37k2tJM Additional things you need to know: - Shift + A to get the menu with all…
We're probably just not talking about the same thing. I am talking specifically about normal/depth-based DM decals each calling their own unique source textures (like the ones used in my examples : a tiny DM texture set for indentA, a tiny DM texture set for indentB, a tiny texture set for this or that bolt, and so on...…
Question to you all - does anyone know of a reliable way (as in : you tested it yourself) to get .blend files thumbnails to show a scene preview in windows files explorer ? I've definitely had that in the past around an early 2.7 version but I can't seem to get it to work now. Of course I do *not* mean the thumbnails…
@Justo Edit: had a look at the object and fixed my post. Looks like two different issue's to me, high poly needs that normal edit but the actual bake might be also having the issue in the thread below - but trying your file baked at 1k with edited normals with 'set normals from face' didn't reproduce the same results for…
@f1r3w4rr10r Like I said, XRay brings its own problems. Not only we should have an option to select things behind other things if we want to without having to toggle other modes every time, the way Blender works right now is that XRay will force a change in selection behavior, from area-based selection (click/drag anywhere…
Okay, I finally got it down...The problem was that I was not setting the image node's color space to Non-Color before baking. If I leave it at the default Linear, the map will come out wrong. Thanks for the help guys. I noticed Udjani says to save it as a Copy, and Zeist as Save As Render. I tried it both, and no changes…
@Udjani I definitely will try it out. Currently the chamfer mod in max 2020.2 is seemingly the best out of any DCC app right now. Although I don't mind moving to blender for its other features. @pior Fantastic thank you for the write-up. Handling transformation like that definitely feels more fluid for a 3D app. Anything…
@Blaizer If I recall you said you were working around a cintiq right? It should have some touch strip no? Or is it one of the newer models with no hotkeys & a remote? Both of my graphics tablets have touch strips (cintiq 20wsx and a huion kamvas pro 2019), which essentially emulates a mouse wheel. You could try that or if…
