i would cut the SSD and use the spare change from that to get a better processor or something. You'll find that 120 GB goes VERY fast and if you're on a tight budget it's just not worth it.
I wouldn't bother with the notes, unless you really feel it helps. Try doing more like x20 small ones on a page and do them fast rather than focussing on one.
