Oh, my mistake then Eric. I thought that the suite was also supposed to set up the whole scene in toolbag. But the issue with window focus once cross-app is enabled is still a problem.
Enable Customize (Preferences:Config:Enable Customize), and then Ctrl+Alt+Drag everything off the shelf. When the shelf is cleared and you disable customize, it will resize and collapse the area since it isn't being used.
