I'd second Torch on that one Toobbs. Nice sharp texture you got there as well! This looks great Malzeick, it's got some really smooth texturing going on. I was wondering what you're basing yourself on for the skin colour as the orange tinges on the skin appear to be a bit out of place for me as well as the green on the…
@AbimaelGL Are you sure your normals/normalmap are correct? The way the inner court's roof shades looks a bit suspect, as if the normals are inverted! The rest I'm not sure about, it's a bit hard to locate the light source in general. I'd also try to fix the seams, as they're really noticeable right now Lovely colours…
Hi all, loving the hand painted goodness on show here. @ANTONIONEVES The consistency throughout all the textures here is awesome. Great palette choices. @87ROACH that golem character is sexy ... in a handpainted fashion i mean. Low poly game character practice from me. This lil guy is called Looty. Already posted him in…
@Tul_ Ahh, now it makes sense. I assumed you were using a tiling texture. But if you use a "custom" texture, you always want enough edge padding, or else mipmapping will cause seams. because the lower res texture makes the white bleed through the uv borders. You can fix this if you have photoshop and xnormal. Just look up…
Hey Guys...I'd like to submit this guy! My first project in Zbrush, my first every poly-paint too...no maps were harmed in the making of this guy. Materials painted on too at the same time (which I probably wouldn't recommend now after doing it!) Cheers for looking and for more on him and my creative journey have a look at…
Here's a low poly hand painted Tesla inspired spaceship I made for a scraped sci-fi space shooter. I've included a Sketchfab viewer link. My first time ever dabbling into these awesome 3D viewers. So neat! Everything is on a single 512x512. There is also a specular and glow map shown in the shots here, but you can turn…
@AntonioNeves: Wow that is some really great work. Having a bit of a reflection and would like to ask all the great people of polygon their opinion on my textures. Ive been trying to hand paint textures for a while now and have followed along with the videos of Jamin Shoulet taking a class. Are my textures…
That thing is called clipping mask ^^ you can also do it by right clicking the top layer and selection "Create clipping mask" or ALT+CTRL+G by default. Another way to achieve this is: 1: CTRL+LMB on the small layer portrait left to the name (this will create a selection matching what you have in this layer) 2: CTRL+SHIFT+I…
@Aluvay looking good ! Do you use sculpts for everything? The rocks seem to to be a 100% handpainted. What layer seyup do you use? I usually start with a gray base texture (AO, normal(green), cavity, (curvature) ) and then use a gradient map for the base colors, whats your process? I've been working on some plants and…
