Games Workshop has always sucked as a company, sure they invented War Hammer and everyone says that WarCraft is a copy of War Hammer but it really isnt. Because if you think about it War Hammer copied off Lord of the Rings, I believe Games Workshop even made LOTR minatures as well.....
Damn this game sucks, you cant even decide what your brute does... Mine has a hammer and a small knife, but my retard keeps drawing his knife before his hammer BUT I WANT HIM TO USE THE FUCKING HAMMER FIRST AAAARGH!!! :D
Let me rephrase: The tools provided for Hammer make it a PITA to get into. And a lot of the tools are a community effort, so you will get some hit and miss. The way you create shaders for Hammer make it a PITA to get into. Reminds me of 2002. Once you get over that hump, Hammer is fine.
What Jalcober said, all the shapes and the model itself is really well done, it's just the texture that needs some polish. I'd say try and added a bit of subtle weathering, maybe try and make the edges of the hammer end stand out a bit more. Also see if you can get some sort of gradient on the hammer to draw eyes towards…
Rhino: .smd is a Valve thing, I've found the best way for importing into Hammer is using the xsi mod tool. There's a very good video that comes with it that shows you how to export your model from the Mod Tool into Hammer. Don't even need to know how to use XSI to follow that one along. Might give it a look but the wiki is…
I did some tweaks to gameplay (tiles and obstacle) shader to fake a bit of light bounce from the background, also added a slight rim light to things. I added camera shakes when hammers hit the ground as well, it's based on the distance from the player to the hammer so bigger shake the closer you are. Really helped getting…
can you explain how having barbed wire on a hammer's handle makes it better, or how exactly it's supposed to stay there? it just looks like it'd slide down and cut your hand to shreds. put it on the actual hammer part if it's absolutely necessary, atleast. also, what's going on with the hammer's head itself? the metal for…
Damn man, why so few comments? this is awesome! Though I would say two things, first where the black (I assume charred skin) meets the good skin on his cheek doesn't seem to have the same transition as on his chest specifically right around his mouth, I would soften the transition. And second I think the hammers bringing…
Actually Josh I rebuilt the hammer, RPG, and shotgun from scratch. The hammer in that screenshot is actually the rebuilt version. edit:VV not a problem, I don't believe you had any way of knowing :) The hammer is just about identical on an aesthetic level, the rebuild was just for a better normal bake/polycount/UVs. I'm…
@Twoflower I really like the hammer, the handle is the weakest bit though, the spiral pattern just doesn't work well and lacks the hand painted quality the rest of it has. I think a flat texture with a bit of detailing at the top and bottom like the rest would work better. The head of the hammer also looks a bit off, i'd…
