Echo what's been said. The only way you'll really be able to use Blender in a development environment is if the studio already uses it, those are rare and usually restricted to start-ups in India and the Far-East (that's an actuality and not a stereotype), and even then that's not a guaranty - Blenders support in this area… -

Crowd funding isn't pre-ordering - which was the primary sourcing for MineCraft iirc - so the two funding models are not really comparable.
