Apologies as I don't fully follow what you mean by 'assigning joints to an armature'. I've watched the example video but still struggling to wrap my head around this.
They've wrapped nightshade up into the uv toolkit panel - it's the same code underneath at least in part. Can't remember what it was like in 2017 but 2018 has all the stuff
This is nicely done but the wood on the boat is all wrong. Boats aren't just shells of wrapped wood, they have two sides that connect at the bow, like what Snader said.
These are sick as hell man, thanks for sharing! Would love to know though, how did you approach wrapping the veins and tendons around both creatures limbs and appendages?

O man I've wanted the ability to wrap a cylinder around an underlining mesh for the longest time! (I'm sure it's existed before now. I've just never looked for it.)
Updated my grass texture before work. I agree that the concept is a little difficult to wrap your head around. However, all environment art can't be interiors!
