I'm pretty sure those cheap adapters only work for late-90s ps2 devices... you may need a slightly more expensive adapter for an older mouse or keyboard. No idea. Installed it brand new, 30 minutes later, sparks/smoke followed by flames and I knew it was an electrical fire. So I pulled all of the plugs/killed the power.
