@atomheart0mother I haven't used maya 2016 but they work fine in 2014 since they were created for " 2014 "& up" " haha I would try to run them in 2014 or 2015 , maybe that's the problem ;o
There's some more examples from the Blender community. All these were done by the same artist, Angela Guenette: Protagonist from "Sintel" (2010) Blenderella course (2011) Victor from "Cosmos Laundromat" (2015)
Maya 2015 and 16 do this automatically to about 90% perfect. No script needed. They call it Area and Face Weighted normals in the objects attribute menus. If you want perfect then you run the scripts posted.
As mentioned above it's best left at 0.5, if you're interested in employing it google micro shadowing, it's a method where the curvature/AO maps are used to reduce reflections in crevices etc. it's quite neat, but definitely a novelty.
Last time I posted was in 2015, I think I need to start posting more. Here is a shark-lobster I have been working on. I need to rig it and then I think it will be done.
BRB, buying plane ticket. You best be topless by the time I get there. Still bummed I'll be missing out this year. Guess I'll have to catch up with you cool people in 2015.
Looking to 3d artist for this concept. http://orig14.deviantart.net/4c3a/f/2015/328/e/f/concept_by_mrnobody109-d9hui1r.jpg You can write me in PM or in Steam. http://steamcommunity.com/id/mr1nobody1091/
>You WANT yourself to be associated with your art. You gain absolutely nothing with anonymity. Personal security is something to gain. In 2015, there's a real internet of assholes out there that would act on gender and/or subject matter.
There's an example script here: http://help.autodesk.com/view/3DSMAX/2015/ENU/?guid=__files_GUID_CDE5B06D_4BB4_4DEA_96C1_6BAB98709F09_htm One thing I did make dynamic is the parent's rollout height. It changes when the subRollout is closed or opened.
