Short answer. It's a nice and quick way to make real time reflections of the world around an object. Not unlike how normal mapping works to quickly create the effect of higher polygon model. Here's a nice blog post about the subject that explains the concept.…
i haven't got around to trying it out but there is an fbx importer for blender in the works for unity, http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=92082 if it works you can make it in max export to fbx, import into blender then export to md3.. kind of a round about way but it looked like my only option to go from maya…
I was going to say that the trailer makes it seem like they're stealing from the 1986 remake of The Fly and Fly II...until I saw this horror on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fly_%282008_film%29 Yes...thats right. A 2008 remake of the 1986 remake of the 1950's The Fly. There's just no point in seeing most…
Eric: "_noshadows.fx" is the max 9 version, the technique is SM3 and it's the same machine. Revel:I'm using the old shader on max 9 because i get errors with 1.5 (only works with max 2008+ i believe). I would've used 3PS light, but again i'm screwed. The ghetto workaround is importing a max 9 scene with shader applied =/.
SouL, you can also use [ spoiler ] tags now. :D Christian Bale has stated for Batman 3.. “If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I’ll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work.” http://www.slashfilm.com/2008/07/02/christian-bale-rules-out-robin-for-batman-3-and-beyond/
you can use the projection modifier to transfer UV's. Just add a projection modifier to the object that has the correct UV's, pick the target object, go down to the projection rollout and click 'Add' for 'Project Mapping'. Change the necessary settings and click 'Project'. I don't know what all versions have this, though.…
It's a possibility. I do spend a lot of time being wrong. Let me reread the Kotaku article. http://www.kotaku.com.au/games/2008/12/chronicles_of_riddick__here_we_go_again_in_the_best_possible_way-2.html#more Looks like semantics really - is it a remake with a bonus campaign or a new game with a reworked original version…
Well, our technical director here uses an ATI Radeon 4850 and Maya is perfectly fine with it. Also, we have had a lot of viewport glitching/flickering issues with the NVidia GeForce range. That said, I'm using an 8800 here with Maya 2008 and it's fine. Basically unless you go for the highest of high-end cards, you're…
That DOES look awesome! :D Haven't touched the Wii since Capcom vs Taksunoko. I always assumed Lil Mac was about half that size though (or everyone else was 10 feet tall). I hope they bring back mario as ref, and Soda Popinski. Mr.Sandman was cheap as sh*t, and harder than Tyson. 007 373 5963
Hello @Nieb Currently you can't load a skew or offset map file into the corresponding sections of the Cage tab. Changes to the Skew and Offset Maps are now retained upon auto-reload, just make sure you are using Toolbag 308. I will add this to our feature request list though. Thank you!
