You should ALWAYS reset your transforms(xform) when finished modeling. Once you rotate/scale a model at object level the transforms need to be reset. It is a very good habit to get in to. Just a heads up on the new dash board, it looks as though hitting the guide button will bring up a mini blade menu that is more akin to what you have now.
