So after a long review with my Teacher he told me that my Texture size is only 1024 :/ so I have to rework the Texture. But before I have to go back and make some changes and resculpts :) I will post some new Progress in the nex time ;) :)
Same issue here. I think it has something to do with Pattern overlay switched off (http://take.ms/IRIAl). I've tried to switch it on, but button was disabled (http://take.ms/LRPl8). Texel density - 1024 Quixel SUITE 1.3, Photoshop CS5 Extended version 12.1 x64
Started the next asset...time is running out, still so many work left >.< Mansion will be a complete level in UDK, 94.000 Tris, 2*2048 Normal maps, one 1024 tileable for the floor will follow. btw...3dsMax is much more stronger than I've expected xD
Lighting Built the lighting since the last post - I dare say its starting to look nice. Lighting currently takes 1.5 hours, but I expect to double that time for the final bake before submission. This is due to the lightmap sizes (1024) and there's a fair amount of SSS happening in there now.
Sure. That small engravings like fists, stars and birds could be done on a normal map using ndo2 for example. Also you can increase their size and place only few on them. Because when you bake them and downsize texture to 1024 they will look like little dots.
New lightmap, minimum 3 pixel spacing between all islands. All straight edged/right angled islands snapped to grid. Now, just look at that new and improved goodness! Mmmmm! And the best part is I upped the lightmap resolution to 1024 before building all this time!
I think you should show some high poly models. Is your only high poly model the light box? It's a pretty basic high poly model, though. Need some more complex models to impress people. Also... This is just a pet peeve of mine... "1024
my biggest gripe with this is the textures are as high res as they will ever be on medium. that sucks, why can't we have the 1024 sizes you guys authored them in :) i'm also worried that i will have to replay the game as a warrior, and then a ninja khajit thief. just in time for winter i guess!
Ok I'm getting struck while trying to paint metal texture. Man, it's quite hard. Tell me what do you think? what should I add/remove? what should I work on more? In fullview, the texture is the real size I'm working with: 1024²
Ouch. Glad you figured it out though. Ah so it was a bunch of animation layers on each Biped? I haven't used the new Biped stuff yet. But it sounds like this is a similar issue to having a ton of layers in a 1024^2 PSD file, each layer balloons the size.
