I just got an email from Autodesk that Maya LT 2019 is out now. I checked online for new features and didn't find any new info about it (not even on the Autodesk website, it's still 2018 stuff). Does anybody know what's new? I hope the improved the auto-rig tool and possibly added python support for add-ons such as ZBrush.
Hi! I am doing a simple Auto gear creation script, and I was wondering if the command cmds.polyExtrudeFacet() supports a step in the faces selection. I mean, if I want to extract faces from 49 to 60 with a step of 2 in a polyPipe how can I do it with polyExtrudeFacet? I tried to use this format [start:end:step] but maya…
I too had hurdles with the triangulation initially, but I solved it by baking it to a quad only mesh first using the "bake from multires" setting. Then I would to a regular, selected to active cageless bake using extrusion set to 0.000001m and stacking the triangulated mesh on the quad-only mesh with the normal-map, and…

I know that there have been newer versions of Blender since I asked my last question on here. But, I'm still sticking with older Blender until I have a good reason to change - maybe after receiving an answer on here I'll have to look into that. I've been trying to look for ways to get the ID process of another program open…
Having dug into the unreal python API recently nothing is straightforward :D - the documentation is (diplomatically speaking) fucking shit the hard part here is the algorithms for generating convincing road layouts. Once you have that it's simple enough to generate plots for buildings and then the buildings themselves.…
I recommend python because most answers are a google search away. A lot of the MEL stuff is on 10 year old web pages that may be out of date. The documentation is a good place to start. As for updating scripts. Usually they just work. I'm using a couple of scripts from CreativeCrash from 2003/2004. I'll need a specific…
No, Core is available at the moment to those you have bought into the 'hardcore' membership and Newtek are taking there input and suggestions. Basically there re-writing lightwave with a node-based architecture, python scripting, QT interface and its based on Collada as its default file format. The UI at the top is done by…

I know its a bit late but ankit, the error you got is because you are inputting the code into the wrong tab. Make sure you have the python tab…
