Keep in mind, my goal for this is to replicate 90's animated movies so a lot of my colors try to stay close to the source material. Of course, I could break a rule if it can make it look better (but I think 90's animators had incredible color sense that I find it hard to deviate from it). The perspective lines idea sounds…
I wanted to try something after some the basics that I learned with lion head and decided to take a drawing I have done and I try to replicate in z-brush. By the end of it I definitely going to stick with Scott Spencers book first before trying anything to crazy. Theres still a lot for me to learn. I can see now that this…
there's a good start...so it looks like some hand painted pieces would be good for you to work on....or look uo some tomb raider concept art and replicate it...get screenshots in game if you have to...check out this artist.. http://www.shawnell3d.com/ Hes a friend of of mine. As a peer, his portfoilio is one of the best.…
So I have been a little stumped on how to make the large painted details if I break the body apart into a series of tiling bits. I also wasn't sure how to ask the question, or explain my situation. So below will be a picture of a "real" paintjob on the train. How could I replicate this paintjob if I divide it into…
I like that alien dude, i am curious i saw a similar model was that yours of that flaming centaur dude. Kind of tripping out here because why would someone replicate your model? Edit nvrmnd that was you, progressed quickly, damn. Anyway nice work all around i guess the obvious is the slightly short thighs? not sure though,…
Correct. --- Also, If you look at a normal map, what is it replicating? This is easier to decipher if you look at the channels of the normal map in photoshop. Red and Green specifically. Red has the light coming from the right and green from the bottom (at least in unreal). You are correct however, when you speak of it…
Try to keep your faces a bit more squared. You should look at reference when doing retopo look how other people do it study it. You can see someone flow when you mark al the stars(vert connecting to 5 quads) you trace the edge flow starting from the star and try to replicate it on your model. find your self some wireframes…
Cool new textures, totally agree with the comments and critics already mentioned. I played with 1 of the textures for the hell of it to see what can be done quickly and photoshops Auto corrections really surprised me, I used that image as an overlay as a saturation to get this look the other bits I did I included in the…
Thanks :) @Bek: yes, LURK, Gunslinger mod, some fallout NV mod, and maybe HL2 mod @Nam.Nguyen: yes its a bit messy so I added "onmouseover" thing which should differentiate the images better :) thanks! @narticus: thanks! :) @DWalker: I am not sure what you mean but I trieed to replicate real-world weapon as much as I…
I've been able to replicate your result. Purple polypaint does show up as green in xNormal. Used xNormal's 3D viewer to check. Don't know why. Colors are correct in Marmoset though. Tried different polygroup colors (including white) & that seems to have no effect. Perhaps the RGB values for purple are different in xNormal.…
