I've tweaked some of the things mentioned, mostly in the face, and started to work on the upper body, breasts are there now for me to shape clothing after them, that'll be the next part.. Clothing...
Ok Photobucket seemed to have a problem with my latest sketch for some reason ... so here it is again Cloth study, trying to get the forms of the body under the shear cloth.
if you remove the bones, skin weight the hanging arm cloth 100% to hip or root (basically so that animation doesn't effect them), then use cloth paint tool in unreal, I think you should get a proper simulation. for getting correct scale in MD, that should be simple to solve especially since you do have one working example…
You need noise detail on those pants. Right now, it's just reading like this flat plastic material. Do you have a detailed cloth normal noise that's the weave of the cloth that you can apply?
Looking good man, I would say that the metal around the abdomen and as the trim for the hanging cloth is a little misplaced, it wouldn't flex at all. Maybe a replacement of material? Like a tough leather or something to contrast the cloth.
Fixing up some clothes, I didn't realise how challenging and different it is to do clothes 3D compared to 2D. And yes I think I forgot to make the eyeballs visible for some reason.
right now working on the cloths .... got some trouble with the camouflage bec I did plane to use squares like on the head ... but not looking that well .. so maybe will do also cloths for the top part of the body
Amazing work. It's been a long time since I've seen a female character that's properly clothed. The only downside to this piece is that her clothing is very monotone. Could you add a few splashes of colour in there somehow?
I dont think anyone expects it to be photorealistic, but now we might actually HAVE cloth and hair, and not just static/hax. :D Nvidias hair-tech demos are pretty nice, so is apex cloth : )
If you're struggling with unwrapping clothing, it can help to unwrap it along where the actual cloth seams are. That way the UV seams are hidden naturally in the actual seams of the stitching. That said, Vig's unwrap is probably the way to go :)
