You're totally right! I've added the reference shots I used. I really should have thought of that in the first place. The challenge looks cool! I've been thinking about doing a personal challenge like that to try and improve. I really like the organic flow to the work and want to dive in.

I challenged myself to try to design the fishing rod and fish to match the style of the concept art. Choosing the colors was probably my biggest challenge. Nothing seemed to work for the rod, so after looking at reference realized the problem was I needed more detail in the shapes to avoid the toddler toy look:
that's something i'm always torn about. on one hand, you've always got a challenge regardless of how good you've gotten at the game, but sometimes you want the game to be much more challenging. suppose they could scale difficulty within the settings or just make it an option along side the usual choices.
