So far it is pretty decent! I've had to set FBX 2014 to FBX 2013 or I was getting scrambled maps in XNormal. Also 2014 seems to auto-weld overlapping verts upon exporting an OBJ. Kinda odd. Always update with all the service packs. -

Same issue here however in Maya 2013, since I bought GTX 570 my framerate is really dropping down, even selecting a highpoly (preview) mesh takes at least 10 seconds (argghhh) My system: CPU: Q6600 2.4, 6GB RAM -

I feel for the guy. It sounds like he did what I am more or less planning on doing. The big change is: I get to cram for a year before having to answer questions from students. The 2012-2013 school year is going to be fun :poly142: -

Cheers Shrike, couldn't agree more, the second image was created in 2012 and was the first tileable texture I had attempted, the first image was made 2013 and was pretty much me re-visiting the process (whilst also obviously including normal mapping). Thanks for the crit! -
