Ha, yea a lot has changed since 2010. The search widget was added 4-5 years ago depending on what version you are on that may not be helpful, there where two versions of max that technically had the search feature in the app but it was disabled because of grumps that didn't like having x bound to search and wanted it back…
Low-poly game -ready as val assault rifle. the model was made in blender, then I used Marmoset toolbag to bake the maps from the high poly mesh, then textured them in substance painter. only one 4K map is used for the textures. https://www.cgtrader.com/products/as-val-assault-rifle-e02d096d-09eb-4ddf-9a9e-9bca96dece92
Hi! Checking the lowpoly in Blender with the Normalmap applied, there are similar shading errors as you show. How does the lowpoly + Normalmap look in Toolbag? Did the shading of the lowpoly change by any chance since the bake? That said, I agree with gnoop on improving the lowpolys' shading. Hard edges at steep angles…
So, aparently, i can´t make obj works with the match by mesh name in both substance and marmoset, maybe is a limitation of the obj. So you could use fbx for bake, and have an obj to export to the engine I kinda reworked everything. 1. Those vertex floating/overlaping on your uv layout are just parts of the mesh that you…
@acute we released Toolbag 4.05 a couple of months ago. It's now possible for SSS to interact between multiple regions of a mesh with different material assignments.

This may vary depending on the application you're using. If you triangulate (or edit the mesh in any way) the vertex order could change and this could cause problems if the app uses vert order to match the low to the cage. In Marmoset Toolbag, custom cage meshes use UVs to match, so the geometry can vary significantly…
