      Adobe offers CS2 for free, but it's legal only if you already bought Photoshop in the past. CS2 does not work with nDo2 however, the CS2 scripting engine is too old.

      This might help: http://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/script-EdgeDetectEffectNormals.html Edge detection like this is typically called Sobel Edge Detection. As for the hard coloring and dithering, that's a whole other topic. :)

      Yeah, default Max tools are way enough to get started with UVing. I think I used them for a few years before getting polyunwrapper and other scripts.

      So "Export Selected Layers" is basically a big script that Gwynne wrote. You'd be better off just going File > Export As... and that should do what you want.

      Ugh... I think this is just one area where Modo fails miserably :( You'll be better off baking with a cage in xNormal. See this thread and this script. Good luck.

      I get that every time he tries to import or merge a file, max creates a new scene. Never encountered that. Some preference somewhere ? A startup script with callbacks ?
