I don't mean to high jack the thread but I agree with what McGreed says. As for DropOfTime, if you go looking in the Polycount Showcase threads you'll see they've put up their final tri counts so you can use those as benchmarks.
Thanks! The plan at first was to bring it in udk and add in sand either with seperate geo or with vertex paint on the tiles. However, I want to showcase the prop itself more than an "environment" so I'll look into making the sand a seperate mesh and adding it on top of the tiles!
That is correct, heres a .gif I made showcasing this. It goes from a value of 3.0 which is the original value, then 2.0, 1.0 and off (but this also turns off other post processing stuff). https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9876544/witcher2sharpen.gif A comparison between 3.0 and off.
Ya, it's probably a bit out of place. But you know, I would like to know if some of you would like to donate me some good art for testing / showcase purposes. I'm pretty tired of Lee's head, hehe. Don't you? Thanks!
Our Final part of Eastern Valley! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUYd48rA6RI And a HD showcase of the whole thing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wi-U6oKtNSI Thank you again for tuning in, and look forward to our new Sword Clubset next week!
Looking awesome as always, not a big fan of the material you're using for showcasing, but it really doesnt matter in the long run :P Only thing I can point out is that the two first spikes on belly needs to be moved to accommodate the slots you've made for them
Sounds like Timur Baysal. http://www.projectmessiah.com/x4/vids/gallery/taron_neckling_change.mov He also has a few other cool ones on his site showcasing the whole single base mesh, different displacement maps thing he was doing at the time (People).
The tools are basically the same. What you're looking for are handpainted textures. Some tutorials about how to paint in that style. http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/TexturingTutorials#Painting_Stylistic_Textures This might help you with the terrain creation part:…
kickin new work broski! I'm glad you're expanding the showcase of your style a little with your rockin busts is it weird I really dig your latest girl's gloves so much? looking forward to your escape entry man, it looks sweet!
Hi, GDC is drawing closer and I'm rushing to get Faanui to a presentable state. Here's a sneak peek of how I was thinking the camera could be like. I need to slow it down at several places and showcase the city more, but here goes: http://vimeo.com/9982473
