More stuff! Digi studies from photos. First two paintings done with the photoshop chalk brush with opacity set to pen pressure. Because I'm painting using opacity pressure, I used a more "layered" method of rendering (starting dark and then adding more light/colour). While I think that this is a good, structured way to…
So I've made a few changes to the mesh, hardly noticable though. Cosmetically I've added more interest into the texture to make it more interesting :) Once I had it to point where I liked I started playing around with rendering and got a little carried away :O Sorry if they're a little blurry, working from my laptop :S…
I miss 2 techniques from PS in SP: splitting layer by double clicking and then dragging black or white values. And Hue/contrast/levels panel. But for entire document, not just for layers, i know you can click on layer and put filter or levels for it. I want it as sepearte layer. Somethign like this: Instead of this, this…
Thanks for the images! Deciding on / adjusting the texel density a bit later has the main disadvantage of you having to redo stuff, so I wouldn't push it back too far. So now is probably a good time since you already have a couple of elements. Obviously, the texture for the chair would be smaller than the texture for the…
Yes no problem, let's say that I have 30-40 animation layers in my scene ( I can't no longer work rotating some parts of models haha because Maya crash with this amount of layers) and I want to use the graph editor. If I select the COG of the character, the list of my graph editor will display the 30 COGs from every…
Progress on the game I am working on. Going for retro future bloodsport gameshow look. Will post weapon animations and such later. If anyone is down to playtest let me know. I have 3 more keys.
Haha, I just saw Allegorithmic has tweeted this material. - Great work! how did you make the jelly beans not to get into each other? - Thanks Vinícius! Ive basically layered them up. Each layer is a tile sampler node and I tried to tile them in a way where none of the beans touch. I then blended each of the layers on top…
You can have more material layers if you use less textures in them. For example we will create stain material layers that only have a base color map and multiply against lower layers and change the roughness. For bolts/clamps small metal bits we will use material layers that are solid colors rather than textures. not every…
AO is super easy to fake with paneling, especially when you're doing stuff like Layer Styles. All you need to use is stuff like Drop Shadow and Outer Glow and make sure it's set to multiply. I'm unconvinced that anything outside of Photoshop is necessary. EDIT: Also, it's easy to get those edge highlights without something…
Well...Not sure if I should post this or not but it is something I've been working on and it's to HELP people with 3d/2d so here goes :D The last week or two I've been working on some Photoshop scripts to help speed up the tileable texture process. Mainly in the Multi-Layer offset department. So I made Layer Cake to help…
