Hi i am putting the village enviroment on hold for a while for something that wont take as long to make. Here are 3 concepts i did myself i cant decide which one to make first. Top: Sniper Rifle Middle: Laser Cannon Bottom: Assault Rifle
If some of you guys don't reconise this then I failed.......Epicly. My first effort at a largish/ambitious enviroment peice for 'next gen', had fun as well as a whole bunch of frasturations working on it, but learnt bucket loads which is the main thing. :) Feedback welcome. Regards, John
Start off with low level, low risk stuff. Tables, crates, power ups for games. Then do weapons, gear, etc. Then move of to small enviros, enemies, etc. Keep leveling up once you master each level.
Marmoset is not aimed at any kind of work, maybe not perfect for enviro yet, but it's the easiest (and quite beautiful) way to see your texture in a good engine as you work on them. UDK is nice too, but its clearly not as "realtime update" as marmoset.
Hello, I propose a suffocating enviroment with threatening flowers and pollen clouds. My WIP link is http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=138119 Congratulations to everybody for your concept arts. Most are amazing, and make me feel ashamed.
yea that was pretty brutal. super generic moon enviro and pretty bland overall, pretty much echoing everyones comments i guess which is a shame, cause everyone around me who watched it had the same reaction as well.
It looks like your spec maps needs adjusting in your material. A lot of making a object look good in cryengine is down to your material settings. Just play with it. You can also try adding a enviroment map for the metal
still working on the sigs? I was going to add the link to the enviro wiki but can't :( DAMN U BB CODE!! :D Thanks for the tip MightyPea, I dropped the www bits and was able to fit both, just nothing else. :D
You should definitely apply for a job in a cinematics department somewhere. doing enviro stuff. Your obviously a realistic candidate for that sort of position, so they may offer advice if you ask for it, as far as what more they would like to see.
i hate my first pnp but it was the beginning of a big love to polycount :) it was my first enviro for a student game project i still work on.. hmm i should post an update of it to you guys. here one of old pics
