I think uvs will be part of the past too, I was thinking this a long time ago and posted about this. Pretty soon will be seeing characters that lose chunks of their flesh when they get shot, things like that, burning flesh, etc. So artist will have to be able to deal with looking and modeling the insides of human, I know… -

on the subject of "more water stains, less dirt and rust" To be fair a post nuclear apocalyptic environment would have none of the greenery that would keep the soil on the ground making for severe dust bowl situations, so maybe a look at abandoned places in Oklahoma or Arizona, or possibly Australia during droughts and… -

Hi! I would say for non-hero assets just use lowpoly meshes with good shading (hard edges at steep angles, bevels with face weighted normals) combined with generic trim atlas and tiling textures.
