i got myself a citadel miniatures catalogue. picked it up in a comic book store fore a few bucks and it was absolutely worth it. has hundrets of pages filled with wh, wh40k, lotr and other unit, building and terrain miniatures. images from google:
Had some free time from ipad stuff, to get back into the droid. Minigun shrunken - less comical feel now. Adding Ammo Rounds - which im yet to feed into the main chamber. viewport grab (seams are temp) feedback welcome !
I wanted to make him a little hand gun like in the comic strip but maybe I'll make another one with a more dynamic pose. I also want to experiment with making some resin casts of him as well. Thanks for the comment :D
Nice stuff. Like cholden said, finish off what you got. Only crit I can see the the gun, the opening for the barrel is on the low end which is odd. The gun reminds me of nixon's gun from the comic Hard Boiled.
I would assume that they were referring hyper realistic as being "extremely realistic" though I have heard hyper realistic to be in reference to something like a comic book character who has muscles that are large than life, exagerated proportions etc.
Hello, Not posted anything for ages and trying to get back into creating some personal work again. This is a model of a gun that Captain Nemo uses in the comic book 'League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' volume one. Maya...4592 Tris. Crits and comments always helpful before I start texturing. Thanks
I like 6, although I prefer the shoulders and scarf in 7. I like the sort of regal look they have. Reminds me a bit of some of the character designs from this comic: http://www.rice-boy.com/vattu/index.php?c=102
Some textures starting to come together.. Still have some major bake errors that i haven't fixed and stuff like the drainpipe is aweful. And yeah, I've heard that comic sans is on the way up? A resized texture flat for anyone interested..
Well, 2 days until the end of the contest, here is my last entry. Not much to say, just trying to emulate a comic / toon look over a very similar shot to the first one. Now I'm gonna do my submission.
First we need to know is what you are aiming for ? what kind of job ? With one picture it's hard to get a clear idea. Like Bansveno said, even if you go for a "comic" style, you can improve your lighting/rendering
