Dear Esther wasn't sold as a restaurant, gameplay was taken out of the equation entirely. There are middlegrounds, the order definitely doesn't have to be open world, but it could've been way less linear, and with the environments it has it's a shame that players cannot utilize the interactive aspect of games and are stuck… -

Use slide tool, use radial or linear option depending on your needs. Workplane angle also seem to affect your slide direction. Try to look at to your model from different angles while sliding.
