There isn't a proper "ratio" at all... I'd say aim for 500 polys, then it's easy to add more if that looks poor. I'd maybe recommend using more than 15,000 polys for the high-res mesh, too... are you using subdivision? How much detail do you have on it?
You can find an older gen DigiRebel for under 500 with a kit lens. There is software out there that will control the camera ranging from $30~$70. The kit lens is fine, but not so good on fine detail at a certain frequency. You won't notice it till you see comparative shots.
I'm going to assume $250 or $270, but they could always put a Sony tax on it and sell it for 300, simply because it would sell out regardless, and probably go for $600 on eBay. Seriously. that said I'm totally getting one day 1, but I really, REALLY hope it's not $300.
Lol @Build :P Make her head a bit smaller, right now it looks like if she was a midget or just as tall as 5.0 or something like that.. I also feel that her legs are too short, check out some Female body references to match the proportions better.
Depends on your experience (the quality you can put out), and what they want to pay. I just got paid $500 for a logo, however I've heard prices ranging between $50 and $60,000. ($50 would be for amature logos that are not done in vector and the such, 60k for huge corporations and stuff).
Most of our fighter spacecraft come somewhere around 500 polies, with a texture of around 512x512, some of our larger units can be up to 5000 polies, with 4096x4096. The majority of our units fall somewhere in the middle, say 2000 polies with 2048x2048. All with specular and normal maps.

Yeah but at $400 a lot of people will. This is cheaper than what I was expecting too($500-1000). At this price point they should sell a lot, and with the very limited features and design, they leave the door open for an enthusiast version, and a pro version which could be sold at significantly higher prices.
