More progress shots on one of the projects we are working on. Using both poly tools like Modo and sculpt tools like Zbrush to create printable assets, and later down the line game assets with LODs and quality materials.
If it's a plane then it doesn't have a back side. The normals can only face in one direction. It is infinitely thin in 3d space. Does that sound printable in the real world? :) You will have to use a solid mesh as the base. A thin cube.
Grimwolf RaptorCWS Thanks for the reply. I mean hi poly 3d models(non-realtime/game and non-3d printable like http://www.shapeways.com/) Sorry that I didn't mention it in the original post p.s edited the original post
@Carabiner Do you mean send it to Shapeways for a test print? I still have to split the pieces, find out how to add the wall thickness and Dynamesh some parts, so it's still a long way from being printable.
Jesus sal i didnt know it was alowed to shoot deer with a .22*, but dont you think that hunting and photography have something of the same in them (but i guess you eat better from the former), you have to be at one with nature andtrack down your prey etc, great to get out etc? * ok, but this is an exception...…
In the near future, I am looking to commission some 3D Printable objects. I need to get some information about what's common for that type of commission. Where should I post that kind of question?
@lmntrix_23 I think you will not be able to print this.. It would take a lot of time to convert this to a printable mesh.. I'm sorry.. But when I am done with everything I will probably put it on artstation to download
This week I worked on some 3d printable ornaments for friends and family. This is the weirdest one and I love the concept. I'm going to go in and do some more secondary details if the printer can handle it.

i don't think turbosquid is a good comparison here. there is the niche market for 3d printable stls, i don't think the target audience is the same as on Turbosquid. So i would check what their top vendors do and how they sell their stuff,
