imo the dirt shouldnt be just big splotches and stains, you should try to make dirty swipes since its something used often, and the owner [tried] to clean it, and put some 'real' dirt in those hard to clean places(base, around the buttons etc) atm it just looks like it was abandoned -

Really, partial values for metal are not that off limits. If you have metals with dirt or grime covering them slightly, or transitions between them you can use partial values. I've seen people keep the dirty parts of their metal full white in the metallic map; that's just not correct as the dirt is not a metal. -

Needs some water damage under the windows and some dirt where the walls meet the floor. A rough paintover to show some of the areas that need attention. I can't be bothered to dirty all the areas that need it but what I have done should give you the idea of how and where to add dirt. -

first thought is that its WAAAY too clean for a mine. especially the perfect, shiney floor. i usually hate the comment, needs more grunge, just because everything doesnt ALWAYS have to be dirty. SOME THINGS ARE NEW AND CLEAN! not everything needs rust, or dirt. but, this one definitely needs more dirt, as its a mine. -

it looks like youre just starting out with your textures. this is a generator room, so its going to be dirty, greasy, grimy, all sorts of gross. throw some dirt in corners and on the bottom of your walls towards the floor. add some dust around the ceiling. your modeling seems to be quite good, so now you have to practice… -

i'm looking at the third image down. the wood is too bumpy. as fabio was saying...the wood under the varnish is too yellow..too new. when you stain wood it seeps in so it would still be dark. the wear on the stock looks more like chipped paint than scratched wood varnish. even if the wood underneath is that light there… -

Tips on Making dirt roads?
Hey, Any ideas on making such dirt roads? I never have done such and I don't really know where to start. For decals it looks too layered / custom and blends too well (?), and for full custom textures the map seems too large For a terrain system the resolution is too high and for a spline based system there are too many…
