Update on what is happening in this corner of the forums: The importer is still buggy but I was finally able to get some previewer shots on a Void weapon Robobobo and I have been working on: I've also been working on some ward concepts by the lovely beetrootChan: spawn idle idle rare death spawn idle idle rare death Hit me…
Found a solution. I exported to DXF. Imported into Milkshape, and saved as an MD2. Reimported into Blender, and now it exports back to MD2 fine. My thoughts on this: Blender's md2 importing/exporting is either broken, or there is some type of data that needs to be created(perhaps within blender) prior to exporting. Clearly…
It certainly have it uses, like terrain painting. But idk, if pushing in everything in game was an good idea. I don't know how assests were made for RAGE, so I won't talk about it. I was more referring the fact that Doom 3, had dynamic lighting everywhere (at the time where industry was stuck with static lighting). And in…
Its old and i just saw this but i heard about this situation and its very telling what some studios really want our creativity for but otherwise this was decent to see/hear yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRg6C8mqhTk was somewhat up lifting, if anyone enjoyed the show you can still find it for now. Now i am…
Here's an idle animation for him. I'm looking forward to the idle rare, I've kept having to tone down his idle animations so they weren't so obviously repetitive! Does anyone know how the rare run works? Is it just the same as the idle rare, i.e. every so often it plays the rare animations between the regular animation…
Just a quick question Strombo me' old china, I'll post it here because not sure if the TBG chat is working for you. Whats the weapon look like from an "iron sight" perspective? The best places to check usually are quick mock ups of "idle", "iron sight", "held side on to the camera" and "looking at the weapon top down".…
@MadCarrot there is too much going on for an idle animation, as I don't get the feeling he is idling when watching this animation, yet it is not clear what your character is supposed to be "doing" while idling. Usually idles just tend to be simple breathing animations paired with maybe the character looking over his…
The idle at the beginning feels very fluid, and then once he breaks out of the idle the animation overall feels more jerky both in terms of timing and motion/arcs. If you bring it all up to the same quality as the idle, it'll be good. If this is specifically targeting game animation he should return to idle at the end.…
Tldr; Add colors, stop & do other things come back later. "stuck on textures" i am getting more into colors lately & i feel this is very "one toned". Maybe this is why it may not be interesting enough or satisfying for you? I can say for me (outsider looking in) things do feel off for me also. Did a search term that might…
I am considering hiring a 3D artist but I am not very good at it so I would like to know first how much it would potentially cost to make a character for a 2D game in something like this style with idle animation and sword swinging animation?
