HI there i dont know if ya will see this or not but ill put it up anyway for anyone else. Ya can use Blender a free open source 3d tool. or spend a thousand dollars and get MODO 601 i got it and its one of the best i have used.
Damn ... just bought 601 and it's doing the same thing! Every few minutes, blink, hotkeys futzed. Must be something on my machine but it does it at work as well. Hope I can get to the bottom of this...
oh yes you can keep it really REALLY low and still have it transforms, I made this around 2-3 years back at this point, but it was around 500-600 tris I believe? (have to dig the file up) but proof it can transform if designed smart ahead of time :)

I personally couldn't make pipelineIO to work right. It messed my geometry. Smaller geo scale and the distortions were bigger. I tired it on Modo 601. For normals control I unfortunately go through 3ds max.

I don't know if it's modos FBX export or UE4's import because moving the center worked flawlessly in UDK on modo 601. Anyway I have wrote a script to take the pain out of this, just testing now and will upload it later :poly121:
I'm still on Modo 601, but the files I sent you are FBX 2013 I had a friend convert it for me. I can also provide FBX 2006-2015 version of the files(if you really need it). What version of FBX does MightyBake support?
