For this project, I have decided to a greenhouse concept under the name 'The Conservatorium'. I have plans to upload my work to the epic library store so users are able to download my asset pack and create their own greenhouses... or use the plants. with this said, i got onto researching into what type of items you may…
Creating the environment for Outland 17 has been a fun experience. Though the production of the game has made life quite busy, I have enjoyed every second of it. Working into the wee hours and burning the midnight oil is what every environment artist anticipates. The hard work that everyone on Grenade Tree Games has put in…
You might be able to lower the poly count by removing some edge loops that run along the curves of the locking bolts and handle. For something that probably wont be moving, and if they do move, the player won't be 2 inches from it, smoothing groups will help create the illusion it's more curved than it really is. If they…
If you are zoomed in on verts and moving them one by one you can lose a sense of the big picture and what makes something 'work' as a whole. If you are doing organic work, like faces, then there is no other option imo: sculpt precisely the form you want and don't even think about the topology until the end when you know…
A preview of what my next portfolio project will be. 2021 is the year where I’m diving back into primarily 3D work, and I’ll be creating an environment based on an original concept piece I sketched up. Finally a new update! There is so much stuff under construction and the time to prepare videos \ articles was very little. In the last update a lot of people really asked for a first person camera support in this game...sorry, even if it looks great in the video isn't going to happen. But, who knows...maybe in the future…
what level of detail are you aiming for? if this is for a tiny diorama, the rocks are fine, but if they're for first/3rd person level of detail, you'll want to look into modular level design
Hello! Over the past 2 months, I've been working on a Red Dead inspired interior saloon environment. Although I've marked this as WIP, this environment is almost finished and I've been polishing it for a while now. Just posted it here to see if I can get any feedback before posting to Artstation! My references were mainly…
The proportions in the concept are fairly consistent when it comes to aligning decorative and structural elements. On the upper staircase the stringers and mill work land almost directly on top of where posts would go on either side of the opening in the wall assembly underneath the second floor. The panel work covering…
