Hi Guys, Im Usiny Maya 2016 & moddeling a character, following a tutorial & it just sais "Create Locators" it doesnt show how, was hoping for some hints
hello new member here i am so desperate to create this material that i ended up here anyone know how to make it with vray and 3dsmax it's a piece of soap that have embeded small bits in it , some are visible some are not , and some of them are just below the surface
Wow, thanks for all the answers :) Got another problem. For a Tutorial, where I am modeling a Watch, there is a Step I can't complete -.- This is a Piece with Mirror Modifier on it. I had to delete the Front face like here: Step 1 Step 2 After this step, I have to create the Faces in this area, but my subsurf won't work…
Yeah its not the curve im having trouble with..Its placing holes evenly while maintaining a circular form?? EDIT: This was just a quick test but seems to turbosmooth ok! I basically made a huge plane with lots of connections, then inset by polygon, then extruded in and deleted the face. Created a cylinder with alot of…
To add too @FrankPolygon post, a lot of you guys forget that you can use floaters, saves time and is less hassley. * Create your shape * Loops around the area you want to panel * Copy the face you want and "intrude", create support edges (depends on how hard you want them * turbosmooth x 2 and you have the results =) I…
you need more geo on the big cilinder ( more sides ) and then you create that extrusion from it and you wont even need to add the control edges :) good luck !
So a floater can create the illusion of a depth going into the model? I thought a floater could only be used for something being projected away from the model, or on top of it.
You could also just have made the cylinder from a plane, and then make the holes in it. Then use whatever bend method you have in Maya and create a cylinder out of it.
Removing those edges kills the pinching, but creates points of tension at these verts. Is there a way to get it completely smooth, or is it so minor that it won't show when I do baking?
I used this approach to create inset and extruded details on this turntable (using Cinema 4D). Interested to see any more efficient approach if anyone has one. Cheers.
